Pattie Curran, B.S., CSW
Pattie is a mother of two children with Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome and secondary Mitochondrial disease. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University in 1991. She worked as a social worker and served in the Louisiana Army National Guard until she began homeschooling her three children. While she served in the military, she received The Army Achievement Medal. Pattie was awarded The Army Achievement Medal for meritorious achievement while serving as Executive Officer for HHD 165th Transportation Battalion. She is also a founding member of Shwachman-Diamond America.
Pattie currently resides in North Carolina with her family. When she is not busy homeschooling her children or attending to their medical needs, she enjoys writing, reading, hiking, biking and camping. She also works on Cards for a Cure to help raise Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome awareness and money for Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome education and research.
